My Journey into Programming

There I was, probably 10 or 11, already dressed for my Saturday appointment with the Boy Scouts, trying to make the most of my morning with a quick gaming session of Divine Divinity on Windows 95.

Born in Vicenza in 1995, I was introduced early to the wonders of personal computers. One of my earliest memories was cleaning my room with my brothers so we could watch my father play Doom before going to bed.

During those years, my passion for technology was blooming. It started with video games—I vividly remember playing Morrowind with an English dictionary by my side. Why the English version? Because the Italian translation didn't work with some mods I liked. Mods! What a wonderful thing—being able to bring your own changes to a game? I was hooked. That was the first time I seriously thought about becoming a programmer.

Until high school, my passion was mostly limited to building my own PCs and modding games, but that changed when I enrolled in Verona University in 2014, choosing the Computer Science department.

My university experience was fruitful but, unfortunately, incomplete. I enjoyed what I was studying, and without the foundation I gained there, I wouldn’t have been able to start a project on my own, nor would I have developed the skills to learn from reading documentation. However, after starting my apprenticeship and getting a taste of working on full-fledged projects, I decided to drop out and pursue freelance work.

Over the years, I've worked on commission and began honing my skills with Unreal Engine. Reading all of this, you might think I’m solely focused on video game development, but that wouldn’t be entirely accurate. Don’t get me wrong, I am passionate about games, but what I truly love about programming is the challenge of problem-solving, the satisfaction of tackling a quantifiable task, and the joy of finding my own solutions.

Did I mention I enjoy Sudoku?

This is a list of the exams I passed at Verona University while i was studying:

  • Linear Algebra

  • Mathematical Analysis I

  • Operative Systems

  • Probability and Statistics

  • Programming I (Java)

  • Computer Architecture

  • Computer Graphics

  • Numerical Calculation

  • Algorithms

  • Physics I

  • Software Engeneering

  • Logic

  • Programming II (C)

  • Network

  • English B2 (CLA)

Random facts about me

I’m passionate about games, web novels, and playing the guitar. While I wouldn’t call myself a guitarist, I can definitely strum enough to brighten the mood around a bonfire. I’m also a big fan of board games: Arkham Horror is probably my favorite.

I love movies but can’t stand TV series, expecially when they drag out the story unnecessarily. I prefer a well-rounded, complete narrative. oh, and i really hate drama.

Friendship means a lot to me, and I value honesty above all. I tend to be pretty direct when expressing my thoughts and feelings, which is something my friends have come to appreciate.

Whatever I haven't said i hope you'll learn working togheter!
